Margate's Tyrie tipped for a bright future
Assistant manager Matt Longhurst praises the 22-year-old defender, who scored the late equaliser against Eastbourne.
Margate assistant manager Matt Longhurst says defender Joe Tyrie has “a really bright future”, KentOnline reports.
Tyrie was pushed up front late on against Eastbourne Town on Saturday and headed an 88th-minute equaliser, his third goal since joining from Herne Bay in late September. David Adewoju then hit a stoppage-time winner for a 2-1 Isthmian South East win.
“He only played up front for about two minutes,” Longhurst told KentOnline. “He went up there, scored and we then put him back again. He's an old-fashioned and an old-school centre-half. He's very good in the air.”
Margate go to Ashford United on Saturday.
