Sheppey United name Lee Allen and Kevin Long joint chairmen as Steve Manning departs
Both new joint chairmen keep their current roles at the club.
Sheppey United have announced that Steve Manning has formally departed as club chairman. After a selection process, Lee Allen and Kevin Long have been appointed joint chairmen.
Allen keeps his first-team duties, including supporting managers Ian and George Batten, working as kit man, running first-team day-to-day operations and leading the club's social media. He had been co-vice chairman with David Ingram until now. Long stays on as treasurer for the main club and the youth section and will still help on matchdays.
Allen, who watched The Ites as a boy in the 1980s and saw the club fold and be reborn, said "sustainability and steady growth" are what he is passionate about continuing to build. Long said they want to see Sheppey United "progress while remaining financially sustainable and true to its community and family values". Both thanked Liz and Emma Batten for the opportunity.
